Summary: Jongdae agrees to marry the heir of the rival kingdom in order to achieve peace among their people, but he isn’t prepared for the web of political intrigue he’s walking into.
Author's note: Thank you so much to the person who prompted this! Arranged marriage is one of my favorite tropes and I’ve always wanted to write it, I’d just never gotten around to it before. This turned out kind of game of thrones-ish so I hope you enjoy the take on your prompt I picked! Just a note I feel like I should mention, I divided the members into the two kingdoms by nationality but I want to point out they are not meant in any way to represent real life China or South Korea. I also want to extend a million thanks to the Chenpionships mods, who were INCREDIBLY patient with me during my first fest experience. Lastly, and most of all, thank you to my dear friend V, who beta read this for me at the eleventh hour and introduced me to EXO in the first place. You’re the true MVP.
